Think you want to own a Pit Bull breed?

Sharing your home with a member of the Pit Bull breeds is not for everyone.  Sadly, there is much negative press regarding this breed of dog and many times owners face the same stigma as their dogs!  In order to ensure a proper fit between dog and owner, the following requirements should be met when looking into a Pit Bull type dog:

1. Be at least 21 years old – or you better be rock solid.
2. Fill Out an Application – impress us with your knowledge.
3. Show Solid References
– veterinarians, dog walkers, dog daycare management – these are good references – not mommy/daddy or someone with no animal knowledge.
4. Must Own or Have Landlord Approval
- Yes, a good we will check.
5. Be Interviewed
– and make sure your household members are ready too.
6. Show that you have a clear understanding of the Breed Challenges – and how you will handle them.
7. Agree to a home visit before and after Adoption – with all household members present
.
8. Sign a Legally Binding Adoption Contract & make a $150 Adoption Donation

Note: BCBC discourages same sex adoptions with Pit Bulls.  It rarely works out well.

  • MARVELOUS MARLIN the MOOCHER!

    • To see more detailed information go to Petfinder.com

    • Call 262-533-3057
      for more info on Marlin.

    MEET MARLIN the MOOCHER!

Marlin is one of the famous "Missouri 500" that was in TIME magazine!  This super star is sweeter than Grandma's chocolate chip cookies.  He's a bundle of energy who is looking for someone to show him the road to his Happily Ever After...

Marlin must have fought a lot before being rescued on 07/08/09.  His scars are sad but he refuses to give into the sadness - he's just waiting patiently for his forever family to find him here!

He will need to be an only dog with no other animals in the home - and he deserves all that attention anyway - he's had enough 'alone time' in his life.  He will do best with a family with some previous Pit Bull experience and older children only.

Marlin is probably about 4 years old.  He's slow learning but his willingness to please is fast and furious!  He tries and tries and never gives up - such a wonderful, TYPICAL Pit Bull!

  • SELENA

    • Email adopt@brewcitybullies.org with questions

Selena is a very special girl with a big heart and will make a wonderful companion.  She absolutely loves everyone she meets and all she wants is to be loved back.  She's approximately 4-years old and needs to be an only dog with no other animals in the home.  She will do best with a family with some previous Pit Bull experience and older children only.  She is one of the Missouri 500 dogs rescued July 8, 2009 from a life of misery, but she's quickly bounced back and is ready to enjoy life.

She's a social butterfly and loves to be around people.  She's excited to meet new people, including strangers.  Overall she has a very quiet and calm demeanor.  She enjoys going for car rides and long walks.  She'll fetch a tennis ball once or twice, but she most prefers lounging in the grass
soaking up some sunshine.  She is very food motivated and responds well to sit, down, and wait.  She is completely house trained, crate trained, and overall has very good manners in the home.  She does very well at vet visits.  She loves to spend her free time chewing on a bone or snuggling next to you on the couch.  When you meet Selena, she'll surely capture your heart.

  • RUDY

    • Rudy’s name was inspired from the movie “Rudy” because he overcame a huge obstacle by getting out of animal control safe and sound during their busiest time of year.  Rudy is determined to beat the odds and fulfill his dream of finding a loving, forever home.  He is a loveable compact little pittie mix with a very expressive face.  He’s approximately 1-year old, and sadly we don't think he's had the greatest start in life.  His foster mom had never seen bathwater as black as it was for his first bath. Although he started his life as a stray on the streets with no place to call home or a family to care for him, Rudy adores attention from people and his tail is always wagging.  He gets along well with his foster doggie brother and sister. He is working on using a bell to help in housetraining and knows some basic commands.  He’s also working on his leash walking skills and manners.  He has lots of energy, so he’ll need an adopter with previous Pit Bull experience who is dedicated to giving him plenty of exercise and additional training.  He will do best in a home with children 8-years or older.  For more info email: adopt@brewcitybullies.org.

  • POPEYE

    • Popeye is a tiny pittie boy with a BIG heart!  He's approximately two years old.  After being abused and left to die in a ditch, his life is looking better!  He's living in a foster home with a Coonhound, 2 Chihuahuas and a cat.  Popeye gets along with all of them and LOVES to play.  He loves going for walks with his pack and has learned to sit at corners.  He's very goofy and playful but also loves to cuddle & snuggle after a long day. He is crate trained and house broken and knows all of his basic commands, too.    Although Popeye is a sweet pittie who wants to please his humans, abuse has left him needing some extra special rehabilitation.  He is making great strides learning to trust new people and new dogs again.  Popeye is looking for a Pit Bull experienced adult home with endless, unconditional love and support.  For more info email: adopt@brewcitybullies.org.

Hi my name is Katie and I'm a 2-year-old, female Pit Bull mix. I'm doing very well in foster care. My tail never stops wagging and I always have a smile on my face. I love my foster mom and my human brother. I'm learning so many new things! My foster mom is helping me with potty training, crate training, leash-walking skills, and appropriate doggy manners. I'm a smart girl and eager to please. I would make an excellent exercise partner - action is my middle name! I think everything is fun, interesting, and needs to be played with, especially you! I enjoy my doggy play dates and would love having another doggy sibling. My new family will be happy to make the commitment to training classes, daily exercise, mental stimulation, and lots of TLC.
